Jennifer Johnson has established herself as one of the most prominent figures in the Western and Wildlife Art world, captivating audiences for nearly twenty years with her innovative approach to oil painting as well as her authentic artistry. Johnson’s work blends tradition with bold creativity, making her paintings equally at home in a modern space or a classic log cabin.
Johnson’s paintings are deeply intertwined with her passion for nature. She immerses herself in the environment through camping, hiking, and observing wildlife, drawing inspiration directly from the natural world she seeks to portray. Her creative process includes photography, plein air painting, and on site sketching, which she uses to develop her studio masterpieces. By combining intricate oil on canvas techniques with iconic vintage designs, Johnson creates art that honors both the beauty of nature and the historical charm of Western Americana.
“As an artist, I am captivated by the breathtaking beauty of nature, including the diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes of our National Parks. I believe that oil on canvas is the ideal medium to capture the intricate details and vibrant colors of my subjects, bringing them to life in my paintings. My creative process is deeply connected to the natural world. I spend time camping and hiking, immersing myself in the environment and observing the wildlife that inspires me. My goal is to convey the beauty of the natural world in my work along with old iconic signs and typography giving a playfully nod to the history of the location. Ultimately, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation and respect for the natural world through my art, encouraging others to explore and protect it for generations to come.”

Jennifer has work displayed in permanent collection including the Famous Cowboy Bar in Jackson Hole Wyoming and the historic Wort Hotel. Jennifer’s most recent honor was induction into
he prestigious Russell Skull Society of Artist with the CM Russell Museum. Jennifer’s work is considered some of the most sought after western art in the country with sell out art shows and auction pieces reaching double retail prices. She also participates in many of the major Western exhibitions around the country, including The CM Russell, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, The Coors Western Art Show, Cheyenne Frontier Days, The Briscoe Night of Artists, and the Coeur d’ Alene Art Auction.
