As a multi generational westerner, my work focuses on the western landscape, wildlife, history & traditional lifestyle of the American West. I was mentored by important artists of the region, including John Clymer, Conrad Schwerin, Hollis Williford, and Skip Whitcomb.
I came to Jackson, Wyoming in 1980 to learn to paint from life, & my association with the families of homesteaders here has greatly enriched my knowledge & “feel” for this part of the West. I have ridden many miles over many years with the ‘real deal’ cowboys of western Wyoming.
My work is currently included in the permanent collections of The Whitney Museum of Western Art, Cody, Wy., the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wy., the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Ga., and the Brinton Museum in Big Horn, Wy., as well as the Craig Thomas Visitor’s Center, Grand Teton National Park.
