Marina Dieul

Born in France, Marina Dieul showed a passion for drawing and painting from an early age, encouraged by her family to pursue an artistic path. She moved to Canada in the early 2000s and now lives and works in Montreal. Her work has received international recognition through numerous awards and distinctions, including honors from the Kingston Prize, the Portrait Society of Canada, The Artist's Magazine, and International Artist Magazine. She received the William Bouguereau Best of Show Award and First Place in Drawing at the Art Renewal Center Salon, Best of Show at the “Inspiring Figures” exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art, and two Awards of Excellence at the Portrait Society of America international competitions. She has also been designated a Living Master by the Art Renewal Center. Known for her trompe-l’oeil paintings of animals and figures infused with humor, tenderness, and poetic symbolism, Marina Dieul creates her work in her Montreal studio, surrounded by the many cats she fosters for a local no-kill shelter.
