Norm Clasen

Norman Edward Clasen was born in 1939 in Southern California.

After attending the University of Colorado, Norm moved to Aspen in 1962, where he founded an independent advertising agency.

Unsatisfied with the images he was receiving, he picked up a camera and started shooting the photos for his clients.  His clients included many recognizable names in the Ski and Tennis industry.

This led to Norm filming at Wimbledon, The US Open Tennis Championships as well as many other Tournaments.  He also had the great pleasure of filming at three Winter Olympic Games including Innsbruck, Austria, Grenoble, France and Lake Placid, USA.

In 1978, a series of coincidences led to Clasen being hired to photograph for the Leo Burnett Agency for their client Marlboro. Subsequently, Norm spent more than 12 years producing hundreds of ads and billboards across the world for the iconic, and what many consider, the most influential advertising campaign ever.

In 2018 Norm’s photography caught the attention of the Art World and it has been exhibited and selling in Contemporary Art Galleries and Museums across the world ever since.

Norm married his wife Laura in 1977 in Aspen and they had one daughter.  They continue to live in the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado.
