Valerie B Gobeil is an award-winning artist known for her vivid, representational paintings of the animal kingdom. Her evocative work is regularly featured in major national art exhibitions and is held in private and public collections across North America and Europe.
Raised in rural Canada, Gobeil’s early fascination with nature later evolved into a diverse academic and international journey: she earned degrees in education and archaeology, taught languages in Japan, worked for NATO in Europe, and studied orangutan behavior in the rainforests of Borneo.
Two decades ago, Gobeil relocated to Arizona and answered her true calling as a full-time artist, refining her craft under the mentorship of some of America’s most renowned masters. By blending an intuitive knowledge of animal behavior and anatomy with dramatic storytelling, her dynamic compositions bring scenes to life through powerful movement, charm, and drama, capturing a single, authentic “moment in time”.
