Weathered rock outcroppings protrude from the desert floor in countless places across the west. This particular thumb of metamorphosed volcanic rock standing amidst California’s Alabama Hills has weathered over eons of time to assume its current soft rounded shape. It’s west facing orientation catches the late afternoon light as it has done for millennia and will continue to do so long after we are gone.
Over one hundred volunteers staff the Coors Art Gallery during the Stock Show and special events such as the Red Carpet Reception. Volunteers come from across the front range, drawn by their love for the art show as well as their dedication to raising funds for the National Western Scholarship Trust, to which the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale is the largest contributor.
