Turned by the Moon

I paint a number of stampede-type works. I think they are a great allegorical symbol to represent life as I view it in the twenty first century. By that I mean the human condition has not changed much over the vast passage of time. We still and always did and always will face the travesty of present events. It seems human predicament is cursed to face the absurdity of whatever is currently coming down the pike to confront us. We mount our most steadfast saddle and charge headlong with our longest rope…and pray the out-come is in our favor. My grandfather, Coony Brase, a farmer, worked crops and livestock his entire long life, always aware of celestial influences, decisions based on the correct phase of the moon and â??signâ? from the stars.
