The title describes an epic scene of a peregrine falcon chasing two green-winged teal. The teal must escape to survive but the falcon must kill to survive. Peregrine falcons are the fastest flying birds on earth and can reach speeds of 250 mph. The bronze reeds provide a visual path that creates the speed and intensity of this dynamic composition.
Over one hundred volunteers staff the Coors Art Gallery during the Stock Show and special events such as the Red Carpet Reception. Volunteers come from across the front range, drawn by their love for the art show as well as their dedication to raising funds for the National Western Scholarship Trust, to which the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale is the largest contributor.
