“The Powder Chief” emerged as a spontaneous creation, born out of unexpected weather that disrupted our original shoot plans. Despite the change in circumstances, this image has quickly become one of my favorites. For me, “The Powder Chief” symbolizes an exploration of the intersection between old traditions and modern realities. Through my juxtaposed imagery, I often seek to challenge viewers and collectors alike to reflect on the lessons of history-both its mistakes and successes.

Thomas Whiteagle, our native model for this series, brought an unparalleled energy and positivity to the shoot. Working with him has been a joy, not only for his professional demeanor but also for the invaluable insights he shares about his heritage.
