Todd Bacon has been taking photographs for thirty years. Six years ago , he sold his business so that he could spend more time on his craft. He looks for quint essential American experiences, with a particular emphasis on western lands and its people and culture. Slow to convert from color slide film (where every click of the shutter cost 50cents )to digital, Bacon discovered anew freedom to shoot and process images, unleashing all kinds of creativity.
Today, he uses his photography and writing skills to help non profits tell their story , including the National Western Stock Show ,where he is in his fourth year as a volunteer photographer. Bacon has recently done presentation son photographing the West for the Garden Club of Denver at the Botanic Gardens , the Mesa Verde Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Denver . His 2023 solo exhibition at History Colorado, entitled “Snowbound Strength” ,displayed large- format images of horses experiencing harsh Winter storms. His work has also been featured in Avid Lifestyles and Colorado Expression magazines.
We thank our proud Sponsors & Partners in support for the National Western Scholarship Trust
Over one hundred volunteers staff the Coors Art Gallery during the Stock Show and special events such as the Red Carpet Reception. Volunteers come from across the front range, drawn by their love for the art show as well as their dedication to raising funds for the National Western Scholarship Trust, to which the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale is the largest contributor.
